FALL 2017 and Spring 2018 NCASM MEETING INFORMATION

SAVE THE DATE:
The NCASM Program Planning Committee is already busy working on the Spring, 2018 meeting. That meeting will be held March 2 and 3, 2018 in Pleasanton, CA. SAVE THE DATE and stay tuned for updates.

FALL 2017 NCASM MEETING WRAP-UP:
The NCASM Fall 2017 Meeting held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Santa Clara University was attended by over 100 north state microbiologists. The theme of the meeting was Emerging Outbreaks: Investigation, Prevention, and Public Awareness. By all accounts, the meeting was a huge success. Past NCASM President and Program Chair Dan Mills summarized the meeting best: "The program covering a wide range of microbiological topics was diverse and very interesting, and the quality of presentations as usual, great, in every case." In addition to great science and networking, we were all pleased that so many students (the future of our organization) chose to attend, many from as far away as the University of Nevada, Reno
. Thank you to the Planning Committee, NCASM Executive Committee, and the many who helped with the mechanics of running the meeting (setting up chairs and tables, leading the break out groups, registration, etc). Save March 2 and 3, 2018 on your calendar for the Spring 2018 meeting. See you there.
